If you enjoy the rich flavor that garlic adds to food, you might want to try growing your own. Garlic is quite easy to cultivate.
This video, provided courtesy of eHow Home, offers you tips on the basics of growing garlic in your own garden.
Garlic is a vegetable that grows in the form of an underground bulb made up of several sections called cloves. The video begins by showing you how to pick bulbs that are suitable for cultivation, and explains how to separate the cloves. It goes on to give you tips on planting the cloves. Typically, you plant garlic in late winter or early spring. About 100 days later, each clove will have grown into a mature garlic plant that is ready to harvest. You’ll have a supply of fresh garlic for your kitchen, and probably some left over to give to your friends.
